The double-section TRL is the single-section ladder’s bigger sibling — same ridge hook, same rubber bearer bars, same UK build quality, but with a sliding second section that gets you across longer roof runs without repositioning. Closed lengths start at 2.94m, which fits in a standard van. Open, the TRL245 reaches 7.67m along the pitch.

For shorter runs or shallower pitches where you don’t need the extra reach, the single-section TRL range starts at 2.95m.

Double-section roof ladders suit longer pitched roof runs — detached houses with steeper pitches, commercial rooflines, and any job where a single-section ladder leaves you short of the ridge or forces multiple placements. The sliding section locks at your required length rather than committing you to a fixed size, which makes the TRL240 or TRL245 a practical one-ladder solution for most residential roofing work.

The rung counts (11+9 through to 17+15) reflect real weight differences too. The TRL230 at 14kg is manageable solo up a roof pitch. The TRL245 at 20kg is still within solo-carry territory for most tradespeople but worth considering if you’re working alone regularly — carrying 20kg up a ladder before you’ve started the job adds up over a day.

Product Details

Site use note: Extend and lock the sliding section fully before transferring weight onto the ladder. Inspect bearer bar rubber and ridge hook seating before each use — damaged rubber reduces tile protection and load distribution. A second person should be present when erecting roof access equipment. Working at Height Regulations apply.
